Summary
The glibc-debug package contains static standard C libraries with debugging information. You need this only if you want to step into C library routines during debugging programs statically linked against one or more of the standard C libraries. To use this debugging information, you need to link binaries with -L/usr/lib/debug compiler option. If you want to see glibc source files during debugging, you should install glibc-debuginfo package. If unsure if you need this, don't install this package.
