备注

为了把您当前的 红帽企业 Linux 3 系统升级到 Update 7，您必须使用 红帽网络 来更新相应的软件包。使用 Anaconda 把系统升级到 Update 7 已不被支持。

使用 Anaconda 只能进行全新的 红帽企业 Linux 3 Update 7 安装。

  • 如果您要复制 红帽企业 Linux 3 Update 7 光盘的内容（例如为了筹备网络安装），请只复制操作系统光盘的内容。不要复制附加光盘或任何层次产品光盘，因为这会覆盖 Anaconda 正常操作所必需的文件。

    这些光盘必须在安装了红帽企业 Linux 之后被安装。

常规备注

本节包含不特指其它各节的常规备注。

  • DebugInfo 为单独的软件包库提供了完整的 debugging symbol 二进制代码，从而使系统分析工具和配置档案程序（profilers）可以对应用程序进行全面的纠错和跟踪。DebugInfo 会在 /usr/lib/debuginfo 目录中安装这些二进制代码。

    如果安装了 -debuginfo RPM，用户就可以完全获得以下的分析工具所带来的益处：

    • 使用 gdb 来进行程序纠错 (debug)

    • crash 时的内核 core dump debug

    • 使用 systemtap 和 oprofile 进行性能分析以及产生配置档案

  • redhat-release 软件包中的 /etc/issue 和 /etc/issue.net 这两个文件的使用有了一些改变：当 redhat-release 被更新后，用户修改过的这两个文件（包括用户的定制信息）不会被分别重新命名为 /etc/issue.rpmsave 和 /etc/issue.net.rpmsave。

    因为在以前的 redhat-release RPM 中存在 trigger，当它第一次被更新的时候，这两个文件的使用并不会改变：被更新的 redhat-release 软件包中的新的 /etc/issue 和 /etc/issue.net 会在磁盘中保存，而包括用户定制信息的老的 /etc/issue 和 /etc/issue.net 文件分别被重新命名为 /etc/issue.rpmsave 和 /etc/issue.net.rpmsave。用户必须手工修改这些文件来应用以前的定制配置。一旦对这两个文件应用了定制配置，以后进行的升级就不再需要用户的参与了。

内核相关信息

本节涉及与红帽企业 Linux 3 Update 7 内核相关的问题。

  • 红帽企业 Linux 3 Update 7 包括了一个新的 /proc sysctl 接口来启用一个改进的 NUMA-friendly 页分配策略。它的默认设置与 Update 6版本中的相同（不使用这个策略）。要启动这个策略，您可以使用以下方法中的一种：

    • 以根(root)用户的身份运行以下命令：

      
echo "1" > /proc/sys/vm/numa_memory_allocator

    • 或者使用 sysctl 命令：

      
/sbin/sysctl vm.numa_memory_allocator=1

    • 或者，您可以在 /etc/sysctl.conf 中输入以下行： 

      
vm.numa_memory_allocator = 1

    这个改进的 NUMA-friendly 页分配策略只对带有 NUMA 功能的系统有效；这个功能只被 x86_64 内核支持。

  • 红帽企业 Linux 3 Update 7 包括了一个新的启动选项：nokeyb。这个选项禁用了对 IBM 刀片式服务器（blade server）的 console 键盘的支持。它会在 IBM 刀片式服务器启动的时候自动被设置。

    当 nokeyb 选项被启用时，它解决了在 console 中重复出现 pc_keyb: controller jammed (0xA7) 错误信息的问题。这个新选项同时解决了依赖于在启动时不存在的一个 USB 键盘的非 IBM 系统上的问题。

对驱动程序和硬件支持的改变

这个版本更新包括了对一些驱动程序的错误修正。比较重要的驱动程序更新在以下被列举。在某些情况下，原来的驱动程序会以不同的名称被保留，那些计划在稍后的时间才升级驱动程序的用户仍然可以使用这些老的驱动。

备注

驱动程序的升级迁移应该在应用下一个 红帽企业 Linux 更新版本之前进行。这是因为多数情况下，每次更新只会保留一个老版本的驱动程序。

发行注记还标明了哪些老版本的驱动程序已从本次内核更新中删除。这些驱动程序的基准名后有一个版本号码，如 megaraid_2002.o。您必须在安装本次内核更新前从 /etc/modules.conf 中删除这些驱动程序。

切记，判断哪些驱动程序正在被使用的唯一准确的方法是查看 /etc/modules.conf 文件的内容。使用 lsmod 命令不能代替对该文件的查看。

以下设备驱动在 红帽企业 Linux 3 Update 7 中被添加或更新：

  • Dell Remote BIOS Update (dell_rbu) 驱动 version 2.1

  • 升级的 SATA 支持（core、libata 和驱动）

  • OpenIPMI 驱动被升级到 version 35.11 并纠正了其中的错误

  • Emulex LightPulse Fibre Channel (lpfc) 驱动被更新到 7.3.3

    注意： 在系统日志文件和 lpfc 驱动的 /proc 文件中所包括的一些适配器名字符串会被修改来提供更多的描述信息。

  • 当对一个失效的设备进行 I/O 操作时，一些特定的 SCSI 错误信息会被显示输出。现在，用户可以限制其中的一些错误信息的输出频率。这可以防止当一个光纤电缆被从一个活动的设备上拔下时系统持续记录大量错误信息的问题。这个功能有两个相关的 sysctl 参数：

    • printk_ratelimit: 记录信息间隔的最短时间（频率限制值）。默认的值为0（频率限制功能被关闭）。

    • printk_ratelimit_burst: 在频率限制被触发前允许被频率限制的错误输出的次数。默认值为10。

      这个功能可以通过以下命令启用： 

      
sysctl -w kernel.printk_ratelimit=5
